Shilpi Resort Reviews
Shilpi Resort was a very peaceful hotel. It has a country, rural feel
to it. We dined outside in the courtyard. There were very few tourists
there when we were there. You can walk out into the country and right
next door is the Shilgram Crafts Village. They were having a crafts
fair when we were there. The only disadvantage is that you need a car
or transportation. It is too far to just walk into Udaipur. On the
other hand, it was good to escape the chaos of the city.

The Resort is in the foot hills away from the hustle-bustle of the
Touristy Udaipur, but still it takes only 10 minutes car drive to
reach into the heart of the City. The rooms are spacious and clean.
Few expected amenities like in-room locker, internet connection, iron
board, etc were found lacking. There and many nice lawns with sofa
swings to chill out or read a book. The swimming pool is clean and
nice but not heated so probably useful only when temperature is
higher. There is a lagoon type of water feature in one of the lawns
which needs cleaning badly. The service staff is very helpful and
attentive. We went with our one year old baby and had the usual spills
and stuff and the service staff was very courteous in helping out. The
Restaurant is not all day dining so we had to plan when to have our
meals which obviously we did not like being on vacation. But they went
out of way to prepare the type of baby food that we feed and even
allowed my wife to go in the kitchen to inspect the baby food
preparation to ensure it is right. The resort is close to the
handicraft village and evenings host puppet show etc.
